Abstract:
          An endomorphism field $\varphi$ on a pseudo-Riemannian manifold
$(M,g)$ determines a map $\varphi:TM$ $\rightarrow$ $TM$. We derive a 
necessary and sufficient condition for $\varphi$ to be a harmonic map when 
the tangent bundle $TM$ is equipped with the complete lift metric. We give
several examples and applications.
